At the end of February 2009, the Colombian Coffee exportation drop 9% in the accumulate year. Between March 2008 and February 2009 it was sold to the external market 10´647.000 bags of 60 kg, one million of bags less opposite to the previous year.
However, the February performance was better regarding many initial projections, this show that 2009 will be the normalization year concerning to production and exportations, taking in consideration that 2008 had a record in all the figures and a second semester that didn´t show the expecting results.
