Colombian Coffee sales dropped 26% during the first semester of this year, regarding to the same semester of 2008. The coffee sales passing through 5´851.000 to 4´358.000 bags of 60 kg. This behavior is due to all the factors mentioned along this first semester like heavy rains during the last months of 2008, fertilization decrease and political of harvest renewal, although today are afecting the production figures, in the future will be seen the results. SEASONAL PICK The dispute for the coffee still alive, this due to delay and non fulfillment of shipping compromises from many Colombian exporters. This fact has given a good support to the internal price and the external premium or differentials. Actually Nariño and Cauca are the departments that begin the principal harvest (A little delay), which will last until July.
